A bronze tripod with dragon pattern across the body and deep lid covering the edge.
An elegant appearance through its slimmer shape, aged beautifully through natural corrosion. The decorative pattern is distinctly clear to the eye and is in pristine condition.
Archaic Bronze Tripod from Shang Dynasty (12th Century BC)
商代青銅蟬紋小鼎
Dimensions: 31cm (diameter) x 35cm (height).
An archaic bronze tripod used as a ritual food vessel from the Shang dynasty. The body is raised on three columnar supports and encircled by a band of scrolls below the narrow rim from which projects a pair of handles and checkered pattern across the lower part, with mottled green patina.
